The Mountains

Glimpses of lavender and lilac obscured my vision as the entrancing mountain air blew tendrils of hair around the visor of my baseball cap. The closer I got to the forest, the higher I got both in altitude and in spirit. Every mile over the speed limit spiked a goosebump-inducing chilly rush. Some of the best memories don’t have anyone else in them.
